EAA’s 2017 Bridge Showcase and Awards Event was held on Saturday, April 15 at the PG&E Auditorium in San Francisco, marking the 17th straight Student Impact Project with exceptional participation by students, volunteer engineers, teachers and dedicated donors.Participating high school students spent nine weeks developing bridge designs for a new traffic bridge over the Pacific Gate of the Panama Canal in Balboa, Panama, or a pedestrian bridge from the MUNI-T-Line to the Chase Center in San Francisco, CA, USA.
In-School Program
More than 430 students from six San Francisco, four East Bay, and one peninsula high schools participated in EAA’s in-class program. Seventeen Bay Area firms provided 49 volunteer structural engineers to teach the weekly curriculum.
Winning Teams
Every student on a winning team received a trophy. The awards and the program were made possible by the generous support of our sponsors.
